The height of our rivers and lakes and the amount of water being released can make a huge difference when fishing for freshwater species.
The NSW Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Natural Resources 2004 provides daily updates to their website regarding river heights and storage levels.
To have a look at the river heights, click here.
For those unsure how to use the site, click on the desired river on the left hand side of the page, e.g. "Murray". This brings up a list of all the river height stations in this category. You can scroll down to read the data from the table, or you can click on the blue link at that specific point, e.g. "Murray @ Albury". This comes up with a few graphs that display important information.
You can now use the selector on the left hand side to choose another river height station.
